New York, New York. 35mm, 2016.
In 2016, for the first time in New York, for five days, I walked constantly defying myself to not take digital pictures. To avoid the immediacy I took my 35 mm Minolta with me only, and established a workflow dedicated to a silent reflection on the city. As was my first time in one of the most iconic cities in the world, I had to deal with pre- concepts, pre-images, that already existed in my mind. There, I discover my own frame, my own hand on the city-subject. I negotiated between what I wanted and what the city and its history were imposing on me.
