Paula Damasceno is a Brazilian visual artist, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro in 1975, and based in Greensboro, North Carolina since 2012.
Her practice is focused on analog and historic photographic processes, and their relationship to history, memory, and identities. Her work addresses the passage of time and investigates cultural identity, aging, heritage, and Humankind.
She holds Bachelor of Fines Arts degree with a concentration in Photography from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. She also has extended practice with video documentary, theater and movement.
Paula has exhibited her work at the Weatherspoon Art Museum, the Southeastern Center for Photography and the Greensboro Project Space, and featured in The Hand Magazine.
