Paula Damasceno is a Brazilian born artist raised in Rio de Janeiro, now based in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Her training in classical ballet and work in theater and video led her to travel around the world. In 2010 Photography became a new medium through which Paula dialogues with art and history exploring memory under the umbrella of subjectivity.
She is pursuing a Bachelor of Fines Arts degree with a concentration in Photography at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Her interest and practice is focused on analogue photography and alternative photographic processes and their relationship to history and demand for craft. Her work addresses the passage of time, memory and investigate cultural identity, aging, heritage and Humankind.
Her work has been exhibited at the Weatherspoon Art Museum, the Southeastern Center for Photography and the Greensboro Project Space, and featured in The Hand Magazine. Along with making art, Paula is passionate about teaching and has led workshops nationally and internationally since 2009.
