For the first time in New York, for five days, I walked constantly defying myself to not take digital pictures. I avoided the immediacy. I took my 35 mm Minolta with me only, and established a workflow dedicated to a silent reflection on the city. As was my first time in one of the most iconic cities in the world, I had to deal with pre- concepts, pre-images, that already existed in my mind. There, I discover my own frame, my own hand on the city-subject. Intuitively, rather than logically, I negotiated between what I wanted and what the city and its history were imposing on me. The picture "Mind Threat" was selected as finalist from 13,000 entries in the 2017 Photographer’s Forum Magazine Best College and High School Photography Contest.
